These lip balms have quickly become my best-selling item in my Etsy shop and at craft fairs. Please choose a scent from the list below - if you don't add a note with your choice, I will choose for you :-) I apologize for the run-on description, the formatting of this site doesn't allow line spacing. My handmade grass-fed tallow lip balms have had a makeover – I've tweaked the recipe slightly to be even better, and I'm loving the difference. While the previous recipe was wonderful, this version is even creamier and smoother, hands-down the best thing I've put on my lips. • NEW - Lanolin for the most moisture-packed lip balm possible • NEW - Castor oil for extra conditioning and shine • Same amazing grass-fed tallow full of vitamins and nutrients • Same eco-friendly plastic-free paper tube and label I've been using my grass-fed tallow balm, made with our own Scottish Highland beef or sheep tallow that I render here at SFH, for several years now and love it, and have always used it on my lips, but I had never poured lip tubes because I just hate the plastic! There's more plastic than product in those little tubes, and I just couldn't justify that – but then I found paper tubes!! They are the same size as the standard plastic tubes (both the .2 oz fill and the overall tube size), and simply push up from the bottom instead of the screw mechanism. The caps don't snap on quite as tightly as the plastic ones, but they usually fit on fairly snugly, I trade them around if one is loose until I find a good fit (and a customer has helpfully pointed out that a cap from a commercial lip tube will also work well). These tubes are entirely paperboard, with a waxed interior to prevent leaking, and I use paper labels, so they are entirely recyclable or compostable. I do pay a good bit more for these than the plastic tubes, but I really believe it's worth it. These are available in a large selection of fragrances as well as unscented and even custom blending, just add a note in the optional text box. Lanolin is just amazing, I've found it to be one of the most repairing substances I've ever put on my skin. It is simply the oils from sheep wool, purified into a rich, creamy, sticky wax-like substance. It truly has an amazing ability to soften and hydrate dry skin – I've been known to use it pure, directly on my lips, in times of great need :-) If you've used my lip balms before, I think you'll also notice, and appreciate, the added benefits of lanolin in this improved recipe. And this stuff lasts - I am definitely able to go longer before re-applying. Castor oil also contributes to the creamier feel of this balm – it is a much thicker oil than most, and adds shine and gloss to lip products. It's also known for being great for our skin, encouraging collagen and elastin production and helping penetrate and heal dry or damaged skin. The rest of this lip balm is the same fantastic ingredients of grass-fed tallow, local beeswax, shea butter and olive oil. If you have an allergy or sensitivity to any of these ingredients, just contact me for a custom-made lip balm, I can substitute any of the ingredients for you. These lip balms are scented with either essential oils or flavor oils (fragrance oils specifically for safe lip use), and I've added a very small amount of all-natural sweetener to enhance the fragrance. This sweetener is simply stevia and coconut oil, and I use just enough to give the scent a well-rounded aspect, similar to using salt in food – it just seems a little flat without it, but these are not candy-sweet, like many commercial lip balms. If you prefer a lip balm without sweetener, I can do that - but be aware that it may just seem a little "off" or flat in flavor/scent. Our senses of taste and smell are so intertwined, so much of the "scent" is actually the taste (the stevia), and without it the fragrance may not really "bloom" for you - but I'm happy to make that if you prefer. I do have a few flavors that are pre-sweetened with saccharin, and these will be clearly indicated in the selection drop-down box with “PSW”, and below in the individual descriptions. If possible, I use a natural essential oil, and second preference is an unsweetened flavor oil, so that I can add my own stevia sweetener, but some scents I can only find in pre-sweetened form. Current options are: Pure Essential Oils with a Touch of Stevia Sweetener: • Cedarwood & Bergamot – Woodsy and dark-citrus, these essential oils make a great lip balm for men • Citrus Blend - Grapefruit, Lime and Orange. This truly smells like the classic cocktail, I was impressed when I first tried the Bourbon oil, and is a great lip balm for the guys who don't want a typical “girly” lip balm. • Orange Vanilla - Vanilla flavor oil with real Orange EO, this is both warm and citrus, bright and mellow. Pre-Sweetened Flavor Oil with Saccharin • Root Beer – The classic lip balm, this truly smells just like root beer. Kids will love this one, as will anyone who grew up on this staple of the lip balm world. Stay tuned, I'm attempting to reformulate this one with essential oils for an all-natural root beer lip balm. • Dulce de Leche – This is the aroma of warm caramel, just delicious. • Mango And of course, I offer this lip balm in Unscented as well, either with or without sweetener. If you’re curious about using grassfed tallow as a moisturizer, but are not sure about jumping in with my 90% tallow salve, this one is for you. It is 50% grassfed tallow hand-rendered from our Scottish Highland cattle, as well as my regular balm ingredients - olive and almond oils, shea and cocoa butters, and some beeswax to make it really last on your skin, even through moderate washing. I really love this balm for hands, feet, and baby bottoms, or anywhere else you want serious moisturizing - a little bit goes a long way, and it really lasts. The Peppermint $ Tea Tree in particular is great for healing, everything from diaper rash to mild skin irritations to eczema, according to some of my customers. This is the simplest solid lotion I make, and in my opinion, the best. It is simply 90% our own grassfed Scottish Highland tallow, and 10% liquid shea oil. This is amazing stuff - much less greasy/oily-feeling than my regular Body Balm (which I still love!), it soaks right in and really moisturizes. Tallow is great for skin, and is local, sustainable, and much more eco-friendly and ethical than many oils that contribute to deforestation, labor exploitation, etc. We render this ourselves, from our Highland steers - we try to respect the sacrifice our beautiful heritage cattle have made to feed and aid us, and use all that we can from the animals. (We also tan the hides and clean the skulls and horns as striking wall decorations). I only use natural essential oils in these salves, an artificial chemical fragrance seems out of place in a minimalist, all-natural salve! Rather than maintaining a stock of these in multiple fragrances, I will make this to order, so choose the essential oil blend you would like from the list and include a note to the grower at checkout with your selection. If you’re not sure or aren’t picky, just tell me if it’s for a male or female recipient, I’ll choose something appropriate. Oven Mitts are regular or Heart shaped. They are made from quilting cotton and are filled with Dream cotton batting and insul-brite to keep the heat away from your hands. They are lined with a coordinating cotton material. This oven mitt is lined with blue flannel. The cotton material outside is from Joann's fabrics and the fabric design are Fun Stars. The blue color is calming and soothing. They are quilted using curves. So fun!! I also have a pattern for a longer length oven mitt. If you are reading this and would like the longer oven mitt. Extremely Hot! This pepper was cultivated in Northeast India and grown specifically for their heat and average between 1,000,000-2,500,000 on the Scoville scale. The Scoville scale measures the amount of capsaicin in a food. Capsaicin is the chemical compound that gives the burning sensation in peppers. For reference, they are about 10 times hotter than a jalapeno. Ghost peppers have many uses and are often used in Mexican cuisine to spice up dishes. Also used in Asian cuisines.

The 7 Pot Douglah, also known as the 7 Pod Douglah or Chocolate 7 Pod, is one of the rarest and hottest of the 7 pod strains. Currently the 3rd hottest pepper in the world behind #1 The Carolina Reaper and #2 Trinidad Moruga Scorpion. The Douglah is characterized by a dark brown/deep purple skin with many “pimples” over the surface. The pepper starts out green and matures to the dark color uniuqe to the Douglah. When you slice a fresh Douglah open, you will immediately see pools of liquid capsaicin oils that give this chili so much heat. The placenta is where most of the capsaicin oils are stored. Has excellent flavor fresh or as a powder.

This “thing” called the Carolina Reaper (AKA HP22B) is better described as the demon pepper child that was invented by man. There is nothing normal about this pepper because it was bred for heat and that it is. Oddly enough this pepper has excellent flavor as well. The Carolina Reaper pepper has a sweet and fruity flavor, that is right before the heat kicks in. Just one pepper has the pungency to spice up 100’s of dishes. It is perfect to add to chili, stir fry or marinates without affecting the flavor of the original dish.

Ghost Pepper - Bhut jolokia is a small chile typically of a red or orange color and can have bumpy or smooth skin. The peppers are about 2.5-3.5 inches long and 1 inch wide, about the size of your thumb. They are a thinner skin than many chiles, and (unlike jalapeños) contain only half of their capsaicin (the spicy stuff) in the vein or pith and the other half in the actual flesh of the fruit. That means there's no escaping the heat when cooking with these bad boys.

These rolls were my favorite when I visited my grandmother on her farm. They look like corn muffins, but make no mistake, they are yeast rolls. On the outside they are firm and have a slight crunch. On the inside, they are light and fluffy. I recommend heating them in a warm oven and serving them with creamy butter. Sold in half dozen.

Meet my friend, Coax Me Gently. She is very gentle with her activated charcoal but she will also soothe the pain away that you are causing me. She will also make sure I'm safe from any other invaders during your visit?" Dosage: Cover the intruder to gently coax its departure from me. Since I can stain, cover me loosely with a bandage of choice. Area can be washed as normal when the time comes, just reapply if the intruder is still visiting.

You could use it in place if tartar sauce on fish, it makes a great spread for sandwiches, can be used as a dip for pretzels alongside hummus… It’s very good for you with the health benefits of the Greek yogurt and garlic. Mexican Sunflowers: If planting these seeds for your own flowers; after the last frost, strew them in a cleared area of dirt; tamp or press them into the dirt, cover them with just a lite sprinkling of soil. approx. 1/8th inch. I have had an abundance of the sunflowers in my garden for late summer. I saved the pods and let them air dry, then pulled out the seeds. The Mexican Sunflowers are an annual flower. They will be packaged in a small zip lock bag with a label on them. I plant them in potting soil in March or April and let the seeds sprout. I use the plastic containers that you buy cherry tomato's in or strawberries. I call them my mini-greenhouse, being kept warm and the soil moist. When the sprouts have a few true leaves, they should have roots. Then I transplant them into the garden when the weather has warmed to above 60-70 degrees. The plants grow to 5 or 6 feet. Bergamot essential oil is a dark, spicy citrus smell, like orange peel rather than orange juice, and it pairs beautifully with the smoky dark scent of cedarwood essential oil to make a great fragrance for men, as well as women. Why use a shampoo bar? Partly to avoid all those disturbing ingredients in commercial shampoo! Then wouldn’t any nice, handmade bar soap work? Well, I’ve tried it, with my own goat milk soap, and it was not what I wanted! Hair, and even more importantly our scalp, needs ultra-moisturizing treatment, and this bar is specially made to do that. Hair gets oily because we wash off all our natural oils, prompting the scalp to make more. But that makes our hair oily, so we wash it again, further stripping our scalp of natural protective oils... And because we’re stripping everything off our hair - and scalp - we need a conditioner to make it soft and smooth and healthy (everything the natural oils were trying to do, incidentally). Then, since we used a heavy conditioner, our hair is weighed-down and needs washing... Or, we can both clean and condition with a natural soap that gets out dirt and oils but doesn’t strip our hair, and simultaneously conditions it - and our scalp - with the naturally-occurring glycerin, as well as the goat milk and vitamin-rich egg yolks. Treating the scalp well is so important to healthy hair - if your skin is nourished and moisturized, it doesn’t need to produce more oils, and so your hair actually stays clean longer, and the whole cycle is healthier for hair and skin! This luxurious bar soap contains moisturizing olive, avocado and almond oils, and lots of castor oil which is great for hair, and local lard from pastured, non-GMO-fed pigs from Cove Creek Farm, hand-rendered here at Solace Farm, to give the shampoo stability and firmness. I also use my goats milk and some of my duck egg yolks for even more moisturizing. This bar doubles as a spectacular facial cleanser, in addition to being an amazingly conditioning shampoo, definitely the most moisturizing soap I've ever made. When using as shampoo, follow with an apple cider vinegar rinse (I use a small spritzer bottle) if you have harder water, and if you have soft water you probably don’t need anything, and there's no need for conditioner, although I sometimes use a teeny bit of diluted commercial organic conditioner as a leave-in detangler for my kids hair. Since I started making and using bar shampoo 10 years ago, this is all I use and I love it! Scented with only natural essential oils of Cedar & Frankincense, with Lavender and Patchouli. Molded bars are 4 oz, complete ingredients also on label, packaged in a windowed brown paperboard box.

I've paired the bright green, almost medicinal scent of Eucalyptus essential oil with the zingy wake-me-up aroma of Peppermint essential oil, for a great unisex fragrance. This bar is molded in a square with a beautiful Tree of Life on the front. Why use a shampoo bar? Partly to avoid all those disturbing ingredients in commercial shampoo! Then wouldn’t any nice, handmade bar soap work? Well, I’ve tried it, with my own goat milk soap, and it was not what I wanted! Hair, and even more importantly our scalp, needs ultra-moisturizing treatment, and this bar is specially made to do that. Hair gets oily because we wash off all our natural oils, prompting the scalp to make more. But that makes our hair oily, so we wash it again, further stripping our scalp of natural protective oils... And because we’re stripping everything off our hair - and scalp - we need a conditioner to make it soft and smooth and healthy (everything the natural oils were trying to do, incidentally). Then, since we used a heavy conditioner, our hair is weighed-down and needs washing... NOTE: This shampoo bar uses local non-GMO lard from Pig Mountain farm, and I have just started making it with local grass-fed beef tallow from Dayspring Farm as well - the tallow results in a slightly harder bar that will last longer in your shower! This azalea has large, pure white flowers and blooms later than my Azalea6. It is easy to grow in light to medium shade, and is cold-hardy and weather resistant.
