——————————————————————————————————————————————————
NEWS AND NOTES

Please remember pickup will be at our NEW LOCATION, at Manchester Farm Center, 251 Interstate Drive, Manchester. Look for us under the big tents to the left of the store.

Welcome to Flying S Farms from Woodbury. This week Ben & Catherine have added several breads, including Friendship, Pumpkin, and Sourdough, as well as brownies from their Licensed Commercial Kitchen; and also chicken eggs.

Solace Farm has added several cuts of Scottish Highland beef, which marbles well without grain feeding, making their meat leaner, more flavorful, and maintaining a healthier Omega 3 to Omega 6 ratio than conventionally raised cattle.

Loftus Family Farm has added some dried herbs and two types of basil seeds to the market.

Welcome back to Casey Family Farm after a long absence. Lois has listed a limited quantity of her Creamline Milk this week.

Frontier Family Farm has listed “Standard Winter Produce Boxes” and “Weekly Produce Boxes” under “CSA” on the market. They will include a share of what’s available each week on Michael’s farm, and will therefore vary in content from week to week. These boxes will be purchased on a weekly basis, rather than at the start of the season like some of our other CSA’s. They will be a good way to fill your frig and include vegetables in your diet each week. Please note that the “Standard Winter” box will contain a “bonus item” from another farm, which will also vary from week to week. Be sure to check these boxes each week to see what’s new.

Frontier Family Farm has also added broccoli this week.

Dogwood Valley Greenhouse would like to remind you to get your Ornamental Kale plants and baskets soon.

White City Produce & Greenhouses vegetables is taking a break from the market this week.

Please note that we now offer Delivery for a small fee to three locations: within Tullahoma City Limits, within Manchester City Limits, and elsewhere in Coffee County. We will be glad to deliver your order to you, at home or a location of your choice, on Friday afternoons.

Remember that we also have delicious pork and chicken cuts, organic free-range chicken and duck eggs, jams and jellies, live plants for your perennial border, porch, or patio. Please take note of our great selection of hand crafted farm products, candles, essential oils, and bath & beauty products. Stop by Square Books soon and see our market table, with lots of non-perishable farm products for sale. Pick up some jam or jelly, hand lotion or soap, herbal tea, or a candle to enjoy or to give as a gift.

(L to R) Wheat Blend Sourdough Bread and Awesome Brownies from Flying S Farms, Creamline Milk from Casey Family Farm, Coriander Seeds from Loftus Family Farm, Fall Planter from Dogwood Valley Greenhouse.

NEWS AND NOTES

It’s that time of year when there are lots of different herbs, fresh and dried, available from local farmers. So stock up for winter cooking!

Frontier Family Farm has added sweet potatoes to the market.

Linda from Dogwood Valley Greenhouse writes:
Perfect fall herb-planting time is here! Buy any herb plant offered by Dogwood Valley Greenhouse on the market (designated by “Herb Plant” in front of the name), and I will also give you a Stevia plant for free! I have some nice Stevia plants (see picture in listing), but they aren’t winter-hardy, and I have no way to overwinter them safely. However, if you move your new Stevia plant to a slightly larger pot, you will be able to bring it inside toward the end of October, and enjoy its sweetness in your drinks and baked goods all winter. For more information about and uses of Stevia, see http://stevia.com and http://stevia.net . Place your herb order soon, while my Stevia supplies last.

White City Produce & Greenhouses products are available this week.

We have these yummy summer vegetables available this week from local farmers: beans, beets, carrots, cucumbers, eggplant, garlic, kohlrabi, lettuce, okra, onions, bell peppers, and red potatoes. Also you will find a great selection of fresh-cut herbs to help to bring out the flavor of those vegetables and your other summer cooking.

Remember that we also have delicious pork and beef cuts, organic free-range chicken and duck eggs, jams and jellies, live plants for your perennial border, porch, or patio.
