NEWS AND NOTES

We are going to attempt, one more time this Thursday, to have our “Jam and Jelly Tasting Event” from 3:30 to 5:00 pm. Taste an assortment of jams and jellies made by several local farmers. The same flavors will be available for sale at the tables. Jams and Jellies by Weaver Farms, Flying S Farms, and Sand Dragon Farm will be available for tasting and sales.

Solace Farm, Frontier Family Farms, Botanical Harmony, Steve’s Bees, and Dogwood Valley Greenhouse will also set up tables at market time (weather permitting). You will be able to see and purchase some of their giftable goodies! You will want to invite your family and friends to visit and experience our market this week. Be sure to join us on Thursday, to hang out for a few minutes and chat with all our friendly farmers!

Amy from Solace Farm writes:
We just picked up our first-ever Solace Farm lamb from the processor, just in time for Christmas. It is just the one, so everything is limited, some cuts more than others. I’m also adding some homemade pumpkin granola, using our own pumpkin instead of butter (so no added fat!) and bits of homemade pumpkin-spice leather as the fruit. We love it, my 6 year old is helping make it – so he can eat it!

This has arrived from Andra of Sow’s Ear Piggery:
Last chance before Christmas for natural non-GMO-fed pork. Chops, shoulder steaks, and round steaks.
Also *NEW: Natural Pork Back Fat for for hunters looking to make venison sausage.*
Don’t be fooled that pork is a heavy meal. That is not the case with natural pork. Even with all the extra indulgences during the holidays, our pork will not leave you feeling stuffed.

And from Lois at Casey Family Farm:
Our cows have finally started milking again. We plan to list milk, but I won’t be sure till Sunday or Monday how much I can list. We appreciate everyone’s patience.

Dogwood Valley Greenhouse has added a couple of beautiful young, blooming Christmas cacti, just in time for holiday decorating.

Don’t forget to check what’s included this week in the Produce Boxes from Frontier Family Farm. The contents do vary from week to week, so be sure to fill your frig with all the yummy veggies (and occasionally other items) from a produce box.

Vegetables from White City Produce & Greenhouses will be available this week.

We will be glad to deliver your order to you, at home or a location of your choice, on Friday afternoons for a small fee. Order delivery just like any other product.

(L to R) Pumpkin Spice Granola from Solace Farm, Pork Chops from Sow’s Ear Piggery, Red Christmas Cactus Plant from Dogwood Valley Greenhouse, Beanies in several sizes from Triple B Farms, All White Coconut Cake from Flying S Farms.
