NOTE: This shampoo bar uses local non-GMO lard from Pig Mountain farm, and I have just started making it with local grass-fed beef tallow from Dayspring Farm as well - the tallow results in a slightly harder bar that will last longer in your shower! I do have a vegetarian bar on request, just send me an email about substituting that one. Why use a shampoo bar? Partly to avoid all those disturbing ingredients in commercial shampoo! Then wouldn’t any nice, handmade bar soap work? Well, I’ve tried it, with my own goat milk soap, and it was not what I wanted! This azalea has large, luminous pink blooms, accented beautifully by the rich dark green foliage. It is easy to grow in light to medium shade, and is cold-hardy and weather resistant. Its growth is vigorous but disciplined, and it will reliably cover itself with color in spring, one of the later azaleas to bloom.

This is a mix of our own garlic powder, “onion” powder (Elephant garlic powder, very sweet and mild), chili and Serrano pepper powders, basil, thyme, and oregano. Also includes purchased sea salt, smoked paprika, and black pepper. This spice mix is the classic Cajun seasoning, and the only difference between this and chili seasoning is that chili mix has cumin. Rather than blending both, I’m just offering this version and you can add cumin to taste for making chili. Also, this spice blend plus a touch of your preferred sweetener is a great mesquite-type BBQ spice. I used it recently on roasted chickpeas and it would also be fantastic on chicken, lamb, beef or most any meat, potato or sweet potato wedges, and any number of other dishes. Packaged as 1 oz in a snack-size ziploc bag.

This scrub is ideal for kitchen and bathroom sinks, counters, tubs, etc. It is simply Solace Farm soap, pumice powder, bentonite clay, washing soda, and essential oil or fragrance oil. I love this stuff! I had been using Mrs. Meyers surface scrub, and discovered this recipe - and it's at least as good! It takes stains and dark scratches right out of my cast-iron kitchen sink, and scrubs the hard water/iron stains out of my tub. Virtually nothing else short of nasty chemicals has done that! And it smells great the whole time it's cleaning :) This is packaged in fully compostable sturdy paperboard tubes with a shaker lid. Applemint is homegrown in the garden. The stems are picked and laid in a basket to dry naturally. A cotton cloth is placed over the branches and allowed to dry for a week or two until there is no moisture left in the branches. The leaves are stripped by hand and then put into a sandwich bag packed full. A label is then placed on the outside of the bag. I do not use any kind of fertilizers or chemicals, it's pretty much organic just not certified. Happy Tea drinking, CNG.
