NEWS AND NOTES

The next two market days will be:

Thurs Nov 17 (with home delivery as usual on Friday) and

Wed Nov 23 (with home delivery TBD) for Thanksgiving.

Welcome to Mack’s Mushrooms from Manchester! This week Corey has added Gourmet Shiitake Mushrooms, grown on locally harvested white oak logs, to the market.

Welcome also to Peach Plantation from the Viola Valley near McMinnville. Stacy & Fred recently purchased a nursery, and have added some of their newly acquired stock to our market. These plants aren’t identified as yet, but Stacy has good pictures. Check out her nice shrubs and trees.

Check out the additions to the Produce Boxes from Frontier Family Farm. Such a convenient way to get your weekly vegetables (and more).

Flying S Farms has added two types of cabbage to the market.

Weaver Farms has added some new flavors of pork sausage and several cuts of beef to the market.

Dogwood Valley Greenhouse will have a couple of fall baskets and planters at market this week. Come see how nice they will look on your table this season! Linda has also added two pretty azalea bushes, which are currently reblooming, although they may or may not do so each year.

Vegetables from White City Produce & Greenhouses will be available both this week and next for Thanksgiving.

Please remember pickup will be at our NEW LOCATION, at Manchester Farm Center, 251 Interstate Drive, Manchester. Look for us under the big tents to the left of the store. On Thursday, Weaver Farms, Frontier Family Farms, and Dogwood Valley Greenhouse will set up tables at market time (weather permitting). You will be able to see some of the goodies that you’ve been reading about on the market news! When you come to pick up your order, bring a friend and plan to hang out for a few minutes and chat with Ray & Elaine, Michael, and Linda.

Please note that we now offer Delivery for a small fee to a location of your choice within these three areas: within Tullahoma City Limits, within Manchester City Limits, and elsewhere in Coffee County. We will be glad to deliver your order to you, at home or a location of your choice, on Friday afternoons.

(L to R) Shiitake Mushrooms from Mack’s Mushrooms, Shade Tree and Cover Shrub from Peach Plantation, Straight Neck Summer Squash from Flying S Farms, Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast from Tonic Farms.

IMPORTANT ORDERING AND PICKUP INFORMATION

Ordering will be open until TUESDAY at 10 p.m., and your order will be available for pickup on THURSDAY between 4:00 and 5:30 at our tents located outside Manchester Farm Store, 251 Interstate Dr., Manchester. Thanks so much for your support of Manchester Locally Grown Market, and your friends and neighbors who have grown and produced these items. Please encourage our local farmers by helping to spread the word about our wonderful market to everyone you know. We offer a great variety of local farm products, and our items will be in your hands in time to plan for the weekend. Wonderful local products are available for ordering from the comfort of your own computer.

More new farmers are considering joining our market, if they can expect enough sales to help pay their transportation costs. Please help us grow the market by sharing this e-mail with your friends and inviting them to give us a try. And if you haven’t ordered from Manchester Locally Grown for a while, please check out our wide variety of offerings this week. Also please let us know if we can improve our selection or scheduling in any way to better suit your needs.

Blessings,
Linda
