Farm News of the Week

Kountry Vittles will be away for a couple of weeks, caring for a family medical emergency. Molly asked me to apologize to her customers.

We have reorganized the meat section to hopefully make it easier for you to find the particular cuts of meat that you want. We would love to have some feedback as to the level of our success. If you can think of anything else we can do to make the market more manageable for you, please let us know by email or at market.

Flying S Farms has added some spring vegetables this week.

(L to R) Bunching White Onions and “Cherry Belle” Radishes

Crusader Coffee is brought to you by Triple B Farms. Roasted on Coffee Street in Coffee County, it doesn’t get any fresher! Our coffee is specifically roasted for Templar Shooting Sports, located at 1101 S Jackson St in Tullahoma. Our three blends are roasted special for the quality flavor and freshness any coffee lover desires. Delivered to us within 48 hours of roasting!

When you purchase any blend of Crusader Coffee, not only are you getting locally roasted, fresh coffee, you’re supporting your local economy and a cause worthy of all Americans. 10% of all profit from Crusader Coffee goes directly to A Soldiers Child foundation, founded and located in Smyrna, TN. They are a local charity who’s mission is to celebrate the life of children who have lost a parent, while on active duty. Each child sponsored receives a birthday celebration worthy of the honor and sacrifice their family has made for our nation.

These are two of our three blends.

We have strawberries! Get yours early, because they will sell out! These are “Chandler” variety, grown by one of the Mennonite families in Altamont. And boy are they good!"

Solace Farm will have some radishes, mustard greens and kale this week. I’m planting like crazy this weekend, so there’s more veggies coming!

(L to R) “White Russian” Kale, Radish “Plum Purple.”

Sow’s Ear Piggery pork products are back on the market this week.
The weather is perfect for grilling and BBQ’ing. We have shoulders, ribs, and chops in addition to ground pork and breakfast sausage. Our pork is from free-range pigs grazing outdoors and fed non-GMO, non-corn, non-soy feed.
It’s delicious and healthful. You are what you eat, so eat the best!
