As always, everything you see on our website is the “cream of the crop” from local farmers, the best products picked and made with pride especially for YOU! When you place an order with our farms, you know you are supporting your friends and neighbors, located in Middle Tennessee.
Please look around at various categories, since there may be some new things added to the market after I send out this message. Also please be sure to read the section of the page entitled “Important Ordering and Pickup Information.”
Don’t forget about our pick-up location in Tullahoma in addition to the usual one in Manchester. Now you can avoid the delivery charge and come visit with your market managers! Be sure to let us know via the drop-down menu which location you prefer for pickup.

Farm News of the Week
At Frontier Family Farms this week, everyone loaned a hand – er, in some cases, paw – to get all the vegetable seeds sown. Morris was a great help!
Meanwhile, Hefty kept his eye on the chicks under their heat lamps. There will be lots of eggs this fall!
Hope Harrison of Hope for Health is still on “vacation” after the birth of her child.
Terra Hills Natural Products and Casey Family Farm products will both be unavailable for several more weeks.
Don’t forget about Wayne Diller’s special on whole frozen chickens. Get yours while they last!
Add some spring color to your garden! The weather is great for planting perennials and shrubs, but please don’t buy your tomatoes or peppers yet! (We will have those in about three weeks.)
Dwarf Coreopsis, Dianthus; Japanese Painted Fern, Foam Flower; Woodland Phlox, Pincushion Plant.
Please remember to send us your comments about your favorite products or farms, for publication in a future newsletter. The best advertising is always word of mouth, and our farmers really appreciate your encouragement.
Important Ordering and Pickup Information
Ordering will be open until TUESDAY at 10 pm, and your order will be available for pickup at your choice of the following:
- Thursday afternoon between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.* under the big pavilion on Fort Street with signs that say “Coffee County Farmers Market.” It’s behind the Farm Bureau building on Main Street, and across the street from the Manchester City Schools administration building, 215 East Fort St, Manchester.
- Or on Fridays between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. inside “Nature’s Elite”, next to Dunham’s Sporting Goods, in the Cherokee Square Shopping Center on North Jackson Street in Tullahoma.
We can also deliver your order to your home (or other location) on FRIDAY afternoon for a small fee, if it’s more convenient for you. If you prefer to utilize this service, please place an order for it, same as other products, selecting your delivery area. Don’t forget to give us your location address in the comments section of the order. Also please text Linda at (931) 273-9708 for specific arrangements.
We thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible. Please encourage our local farmers by helping to spread the word about our wonderful market to everyone you know. We offer a great variety of local farm products, and our items will be in your hands in time to plan for the weekend. Wonderful local products are available for ordering from the comfort of your own computer.
More new farmers are considering joining our market, if they can expect enough sales to help pay their transportation costs. Please help us grow the market by sharing this e-mail with your friends and inviting them to give us a try. And if you haven’t ordered from Manchester Locally Grown for a while, please check out our wide variety of offerings this week. Also please let us know if we can improve our selection or scheduling in any way to better suit your needs.
Blessings,
Linda & Michael

Good morning!
This very late email is sent to serve several purposes.
Most importantly, don’t forget about our special – Wayne Diller has reduced prices on his whole frozen chickens.
Second, I wanted to remind you of our new Tullahoma pickup location. Please encourage your Tullahoma area friends to check out our fantastic market!
Third, this message is also a friendly reminder to place your order online for this week. Market ordering will close at 10 pm tonight (Tuesday). Please don’t forget to place your order soon!
Remember to hit that last “submit” button. I really dislike disappointing a customer who comes to market, only to find no order in their name because they didn’t hit the last button. When your order is placed, you will receive an email confirmation. If for any reason you fail to receive this confirmation, please contact Linda as soon as you realize it’s missing.
Also please go to our Facebook page and like, comment, and share this week’s post. Facebook isn’t allowing me to post on multiple sites, or sometimes post multiple photos. So please help us spread the word. Surveys indicate that word of mouth is the most effective form of advertisement. Please help us advertise our fantastic growing market!
Thank you, and see you on Thursday in Manchester, or Friday in Tullahoma!

Many of Dogwood Valley Greenhouse‘s early-spring flowering plants are in bloom and have been added to this week’s market. Farm News of the Week
Hope Harrison of Hope for Health is still on “vacation” after the birth of her child.
From Linda Reed:
St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner, and you need a beautiful plant with green flowers for your celebration! Check out Dogwood Valley Greenhouse’s “St. Patty’s Plant”, better known as Euphorbia, or Spurge. Since this relative of poinsettia has a poisonous sap, please be aware if you have children or pets.
The African violets are coming back into bloom nicely. For a couple of months, I didn’t realize that violets really don’t like it cooler than 65* inside. The cool weather in their room prevented their blooming much after Christmas. We also have some nice hanging baskets, and the aloe veras will be restocked shortly.
The coral bells are growing very colorful, and will look spectacular in a shady corner with the woodland phlox, pulmonaria, Astrantia (Masterwort), and primroses. Perhaps best of all, the Flowering Almonds, a midsized shrub, are coming into bloom. Their little pink ball-shaped blooms come before the leaves and are adorable!
(L to R, top) Euphorbia and Woodland Phlox.
(L to R, bottom) Pulmonaria and Primrose.
From Sow’s Ear Piggery:
This week we are adding a new breakfast sausage blend and size. These are 2-lb packs, and we really like the texture and flavor. Sliced into patties, this sausage plumps up nicely and doesn’t crumble. Very good seasoning and meat/fat ratio. We have sampled a few packages and have found some were too salty. We think this is from the end run of the batch (just a theory!), as sampled packs are less salty in backwards order. I am listing a limited number at a discounted price. If it is too salty let us know, and we will make it right!
From a market customer to Dogwood Valley Greenhouse:
You delivered some beautiful flowers to me today. Thanks for putting the vase in a box that was so helpful in getting them home to my wife. I would have spilled them.
Thank you!
Bruce Harvey
Please remember to send us your comments about your favorite products or farms, for publication in a future newsletter. The best advertising is always word of mouth, and our farmers really appreciate your encouragement.
