Good morning!
This is just a friendly reminder to place your order online for this week. Market ordering will close tonight (Tuesday) at 10 pm. Please don’t forget to order! But if you do forget, give me (Linda) a call Wednesday morning. I will most likely be able to get hold of the farmers and place a late order for you.
Remember to hit that last “submit” button. I really dislike disappointing a customer who comes to market, only to find no order in their name because they didn’t hit the last button. When your order is placed, you will receive an email confirmation. If for any reason you fail to receive this confirmation, please contact Linda as soon as you realize it’s missing.
Also please go to our Facebook page and like, comment, and share this week’s post. Facebook isn’t allowing me to post on multiple sites, or sometimes post multiple photos. So please help us spread the word. Surveys indicate that word of mouth is the most effective form of advertisement. Please help us advertise our fantastic growing market!
See you on Thursday!

When you place an order with our farms, you know you are supporting your friends and neighbors, most located within 30 miles of Manchester, Tennessee.

Farm News of the Week
From Dogwood Valley Greenhouse:
You missed out on the Christmas wreaths and kissing balls? Maybe you procrastinated, but you haven’t missed out. I have received more materials, so will be able to make a few more. If you’d like to order one, I will add your name to the waiting list. You will not be charged for these at this time, but may pay me directly upon pickup at the December 20 market.
Do you have gardeners on your gift list? We have a small new crop of Wandering Jew hanging baskets, full and beautiful in time for Christmas giving. We still have a few pink Christmas cacti left, and just a couple of African violets. If you want one of these, place your order now, and tell me whether to deliver it this Tuesday or reserve it for your Christmas order. Remember: the best gift for a gardener is a gift certificate from Dogwood Valley Greenhouse, available in any amount. It will be redeemable for a full year, so your recipient can choose among houseplants, vegetable transplants, blooming shrubs, hanging baskets, perennial and herb plants, or Christmas decorations, depending on the season in which the certificate is redeemed.
Manchester Locally Grown online farmers’ market will be closed for ordering from Tuesday, December 18, to Sunday, December 30. Please order everything you need for Christmas by the close of ordering on December 18. We at MLG wish you a wonderful blessed Christmas, and will ‘see’ you online right before the New Year!
Please note: We will have regular ordering from Sunday, December 16 till Tuesday December 18; with pickup on Thursday, December 20 at normal times.
Knottynuffacres will be on vacation mode for several weeks while Deb deals with medical issues. We will miss everyone.
Important Ordering and Pickup Information
Ordering will be open until TUESDAY at 10 pm, and your order will be available for pickup on THURSDAY between 4:00 and 5:30 at the pavilion across from Manchester City Schools administration building, 215 East Fort Street, Manchester.
We can also deliver your order to your home (or other location) on FRIDAY afternoon for a small fee, if it’s more convenient for you. If you prefer to utilize this service, please place an order for it, same as other products, selecting your delivery area. Don’t forget to give us your location address in the comments section of the order. Also please text Linda at (931) 273-9708 for specific arrangements.
We thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible. Please encourage our local farmers by helping to spread the word about our wonderful market to everyone you know. We offer a great variety of local farm products, and our items will be in your hands in time to plan for the weekend. Wonderful local products are available for ordering from the comfort of your own computer.
More new farmers are considering joining our market, if they can expect enough sales to help pay their transportation costs. Please help us grow the market by sharing this e-mail with your friends and inviting them to give us a try. And if you haven’t ordered from Manchester Locally Grown for a while, please check out our wide variety of offerings this week. Also please let us know if we can improve our selection or scheduling in any way to better suit your needs.

Molly from Kountry Vittles writes:
I hope Everyone had a Blessed and Wonderful Thanksgiving with friends and family. I have added a new pie to the market, a Caramel Apple Crumble pie made of course with fresh apples and a buttery crumble topping – pure deliciousness when it’s baking and leaving a wonderful apple smell throughout my little kitchen. With the holidays coming and everyone’s busy schedule, let me give you a break and do some baking for you.
(L to R) Apple Caramel Crumble Pie and Stay-Soft Sugar Cookies, the latter decorated for Christmas.
Wayne Diller‘s items are still in vacation mode this week, but he’s planning to return to market shortly.

Farm News of the Week
Deb at Knottynuffacres has taken her items off the market for this week, but plans to return to us next week. She apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
Molly from Kountry Vittles writes:
I have been busy this week putting up fresh pumpkin getting ready for wonderful pumpkin dishes, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin bread and let’s not forget pumpkin rolls. I have made several country Apples pies and lots of herb bread so you can only imagine how wonderful my little kitchen smells. I may not be fond of the cold weather on these ole bones of mine, but I sure do love the wonderful aromas it brings to my kitchen.
This week I will be adding my Baked Cherry and Baked Apple Hand pies to the market. They have become very popular with my regular clients and much healthier than the traditional fried pie. Hope everyone has a wonderful week, and I’ll see you at the market.
(L to R)
Top: Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Bread (available with or without walnuts).
Middle: Pumpkin Roll (available plain, with walnuts, or with pecans), Tart Cranberry Quick Bread (available with or without walnuts).
Bottom: Cherry and Apple Hand Pies.
Amy from Solace Farm tells me that she has picked up six lambs from the processor, and will be busy getting the new meat listed on the market. I don’t have information or photos for you at this time, but if you are interested, check the category for details.
Frontier Family Farms has added another winter vegetable:
Broccoli florets.
From Dogwood Valley Greenhouse:
This is the last week that I will accept pre-orders for our Christmas wreaths and kissing balls. We will be able to make only a limited number of each (good help is hard to find!) We will do our best to fill all pre-orders, beginning about Dec 1, but when they’re gone, they’re gone.
We will also have pink Christmas cacti and several colors of African violets in bloom for Christmas, and you may also reserve those now if you prefer. Just drop me an email to let me know if you want one or more of the potted plants, because they’re not currently available on the market.
