Middle Tennessee Locally Grown is your online Farmers’ Market for local produce, baked goods, plants, and handcrafted items. You can order between 8 a.m. Sunday and 10:00 p.m Tuesday. Pickup is at one of three specified times and locations on Thursday afternoons:
- On Thursday afternoons between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. under the big pavilion on Fort Street with signs that say “Coffee County Farmers Market.” It’s across the street from the Manchester City Schools administration building, 215 East Fort St, Manchester.
- Or on Thursday afternoons between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. outside “Nature’s Elite”, which has moved to
105 West Decherd St, Tullahoma, TN.
- Or on Thurday afternoons between 5:30 and 6:00 pm outside Martin Chapel Fellowship, at 110 Market Street, McMinnville, TN. It’s very close to the big water tower and the farmers’ market pavilion.
We can also deliver your order to your home in Coffee County on Thursdays, for a small fee, if it’s more convenient for you. If you prefer to utilize this service, please order it same as other items, indicating location.

Nutritional InfoNettle is home grown in the garden. The stems are picked and laid in a basket to dry naturally. A cotton cloth is placed over the branches and allowed to dry for a week or two until there is no moisture left in the branches. The leaves are stripped by hand and then put into a sandwich bag packed full. A label is then placed on the outside of the bag.
I do not use any kind of fertilizers or chemicals, it's pretty much organic just not certified.

Nettle tea
Rich in a full spectrum of vitamins especially iron and calcium. It's antihistamine properties make it an excellent remedy for allergies and hay fever. It is used as a general tonic tea to fortify and build energy when you are overworked and tired.
Because of its nutritive properties and positive effects on the liver, nettle is also an excellent tonic for the reproductive system of both men and women. It’s included in formulas for PMS and other menstrual difficulties, fertility issues and menopausal issues. Nettle seeds are used both as a preventative and curative for prostate issues.

Steep for 3-5 minutes depending on desired strength. Add honey or your choice of sweetener, or none at all. Make a quart or more of tea and drink throughout the day or over several days. Drink hot, at room temperature, or iced. Avoid boiling the water with the tea leaves in it. Consider using a French press or easy to clean loose tea device (like those we offer in brewing accessories).
Full of antioxidants, tea has been proven to lower the risk of diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Many people drink tea for its ability to assist with weight loss.

This tea blend is entirely local, made from our own fig leaves, which taste like green tea but are caffeine-free, and wild crafted sumac berries, which add a lemony zing. I love this tea, it has a light, crisp taste that is really enhanced with a touch of honey. It makes a great iced tea as well. Fig leaf tea is reported to be good for diabetics as well, drinking 4 cups a day is said to help regulate sugars. If you're interested in testing this application, contact me for a bulk price - I'm interested in a non-clinical trial :).
Use 1/2 cup of tea leaves to 4 cups boiling water (I prefer using a French press), or 2 Tablespoons to a cup - steep as long as you'd like as there is no bitterness like with "real" tea. 2 oz will make 3-3.5 quarts of tea.

Made of tea-dyed cotton canvas and stamped with non-toxic fabric ink using a mason-jar stamp with decorative flower band.
A few of the flowers are painted with a color of pink, marigold, or coral.
They measure 6 inches tall x 5.5 inches wide.
The cotton canvas material has been tea-dyed before the bags were sewn and stamped.
A ribbon draw string is added to pull the bag closed, then tied to keep any tea leaves from falling out into the hot water as the tea infuses.
The best teas are made from steaming hot water. Turn the burner off just before the boiling point.
Add tea leaves to the hot water and cover with a lid.
Let the tea leaves steep 10-15 minutes or until the water is colored deeply. Pour into a pitcher or tempered glass jar.
Add desired sweetener of choice, honey, stevia, or raw cane sugar.
If tea is too strong, add 1/2 cup water at a time until desired taste is achieved.
Steep overnight for strongest (medicinal) infusion.

For years gardeners wanted a large, beefsteak-type tomato that was delicious, early to bear, and highly disease resistant. Finally in 1994 those wishes came true with Big Beef. The large fruit has old-time tomato flavor and the vines are resistant to many of the problems that can discourage gardeners. The fruit is borne on vigorous, indeterminate vines from summer until frost. Compared to other beefsteak types, Big Beef is early and will set fruit reliably even in cool, wet weather. We harvest dozens of tomatoes from each plant in our Alabama test garden, where the harvest season lasts two full months and the growing conditions are very good. It grows well throughout the country, earning it an All America Selections designation in 1994; it has since grown to be a national favorite. The Red Brandywine tomato plant is a Pennsylvania Amish heirloom dating to 1885, with large potato-leaved foliage. It bears large scarlet beefsteak-shaped fruit, popularly considered among the best tasting available. Even when fully ripe, the tomato can have green shoulders near the stem.
Brandywine tomatoes can bear fruit up to 1.5 lbs (0.7 kg), requiring 80 to 100 days to reach maturity, making it among the slowest maturing varieties of common tomato cultivars.
